I like to joke about the giant generators, but in all honestly, when the power goes out, I actually enjoy the simplicity of things. We have an old Generac 5k that keeps the house warm and the freezer frozen, a couple lights turned on, and apart from that I don’t care. We cook on the old white gas camp stove. Town water and gas hot water heater so I can wash dishes still.

I have lots of memories as a kid of games of monopoly and life by candle light with the wood stove burning when we lost power growing up.
