I went to my Jeep dealer (Bolles) and asked about a lift kit.

Here is what they said:

Budget Boost (still don't know what this is): $400 plus labor

Trailmaster 2inch SSV: $800 plus labor

and a Trailmaster 3 inch body lift: $250 plus labor

What would be the best suggestion? I have never installed anything like this so I am going to have to pay someone.

dont pay to get the lift in. lots of good people here that would gladly help put a lift in your jeep. just keep your eye out for a wrench fest. or just ask

At this point....  I would sell the Jeep and get a Miata  :rotflmao:

deffinitly don't pay to get a lift put on. personaly I haven't really heard anything good about trailmasters lift kits either. I shopped for almost a year before I decided what was best for me and my jeep.  besides you got a rubicon you will be amazed what that thing can do even before a lift.

After you drive out of the parking lot of Bolles Motors with that new lift they will never fix anything under warranty again.

Stay away from Ron he is a  :mad02:er.

If you are going to pay a mechanic to put in your lift take it to AABudget Repair. Al at least will give you a fair deal and he has built up a jeep of his own at one time or another.

Do yourself a favor and don't pay someone to put a lift in you Rubi.
Unless you what that 6" Full Traction Long Arm kit, that Bull mention.

Most lifts can be installed by yourself or with a group,  in the matter of a weekend.

Detour is right,  definitly just don't jump in head first.   Do some research.   Ask questions (even if you think they are stupid).

Remember we were all where you are at one point or another.

Full Traction lifts will require a $1000.00 deposit for help from club members!!!!  Just ask Nomad.  :zbanghead: :zbanghead: :zbanghead:

DON'T LET BOLLES TOUCH YOU JEEP!  I bought my 03 Rubi there, I took it there for service once.  They called me at work and told me I had to come down and see my jeep on the lift.  When I got there the service manager yelled at me and told me that I had abused my jeep and that the frame was bent and the motor mounts were screwed and don't even think of putting a lift in and expect them to do anything!
Turned out I had a rock stuck in between the transfer case and the skid plate that had caused my grief.

Never again will I darken their doors!

I trailed my Rubi for 2 years before I decided what lift to buy.  I installed a 4 inch Tereflex lift myself and it took just a weekend.
Don't pay anybody to lift your jeep.  This community is full of people including myself that would be glad to help you with your lift.

I don't know if you have gone on any trail rides yet, but I found that a stock Rubi will suprise you! :grinyes:
