i am interested in purchasing a milemarker winch 9000lb winch for my cherokee and i was wondering if anyone has personal expereince with them, or if i should know anything in particular....$450.00 seems like a good deal.. is it too good to be true? are they reliable?

Talk to Detour.... A 9 Series for a little more than what you
were looking to spend on the MM and the performance rivals
the most popular winch....

Definately don't go with the MM. My buddy used his about 10 times and the motor seized on it. I have a Superwinch and have never had a problem with it. They are cheap for a reason.

what are some examples of superwinch prices??

do they have a website or do we can we just go through detour??

Usually a hundred or two to three less than the Warn winches...  And I hear they are just as good as Warn.

I already have a Warn, otherwise I would get a SW from Detour.

yeah

i cant find any prices on the superwinch site.....i am ready to get a winch on my rig because i dont wanna get stuck again

I'm not sure if you'll find any prices on the Company site.
A Dealer Rep is going to get you a price, Even  with the
online places, once you've paid for the shipping. It negates
any savings over going with a local dealer. then if you have
any issues you have someone to go to...

You wont find most prices online if they are cheap...  that is why you have to call Detour and ask him...  He will give you the best price he can.  However to publish prices online is not good for anyone.

Say I sell Warn winches, and I give deals to people who use the forum here.  So I start posting up that I sell them $200 less then Quadratec...    Then Quadratec finds out, and tells Warn that they are ticked, and if they don't do something about it, they will stop pushing their winches,  so who do you think Warn will listen to, Q-tech who sell 10 a day, or Me, who sells 10 a month?

I am using Warn as example and it goes for any company.... and no, I don't sell Warn, or anything, I just again am giving an example.  That is why it is best to call and talk to the man...  Same with when you buy from Jason over at 4x4 group buys, he can list prices online, which are usually the lowerest prices that companies want them listed for, however if you call and speak with Jason, he can usually do much better....
Detours banner is at the top of our page.

the quadratec catalog has a ton of info on all brand winchs including line speed, gear ratio, single line pull rating, and price.great for comparing.

The banner alternates.  If you don't see Detour's, try a different topic.  It's there.  Nice thing about superwinch is that they are local.  If you have a problem, (doubtful) they are located in Putnam, CT and turnaround time is minimal.  I have the EP9, and love it!!!  Free Snatch block too.

cool guys thanks for the info... still saving for my wiinch... but i like to research the topic before making my purchase...  and firsthand knowledge is great!

i got to use my EP9 this weekend worked  great . glad i had it cuz i was about to light my truck on fire and walk away.  anyway detour gave me a great price  and great service.  thanks detour

From what I have heard 2nd hand - the electric ones are junk, but the hydraulic winches are as good as you can get. the only complaints on them ( me included) is the speed.
If you need a winch that will pull at max capacity all day long go hydraulic, but we being Jeepers anly need intermitant winching.
Go Superwinch or Warn, both are good, but Detour can probably get you a better deal on the Superwinch.

MM - just mirroring what everyone else is saying...  DON'T DO IT!!

I've seen two of them burn up on the trail and they're slow as hell....

Save your money and go for a better one... will save you money in the long run../marty
