as much as I like full size Jeepin. I like RC Nitro Jeepin also. This nitro RC started off as a Traxxas T-Maxx 1/10 scale Nitro RC. I added a 'big block' engine, a rear spool, and changed the gearing. It is 4wd, has a 2 speed tranny, and 8 long travel shocks. Power to weight ratio is great - around 10 lbs and over 2HP. Radar top speed is 52 MPH! (considering 10th scale - 520!). The body is a CJ ( I airbrushed it to look good), but they just released a TJ Rubicon body (with warn winch) and an early Bronco - with blower. Nitro is addictive!

Here's a crappy photo of my T-maxx with it's newest body. I bought the t-maxx in August of 2001 as a gift to myself for being smoke-free for one month after a 3 pack a day habit for years. Haven't had one since. \:D/

I used to beat the living crap out of it, taking 8' high jumps, barrel rolling it at top speed, crashing into things. They can get expensive really quick. The best mod I did was the titanium skid plates. The IMEX tires are too big and have too much drag. bogs the engine down.
Can't find time to use it anymore.

There's nothing like hearing one of those screaming along at 30,000 rpm.
The one thing I learned early was don't buzz the engine while it's in the air - things get quiet real fast, and you now have a new paperweight.
I was into the nitro buggy stuff about 15 years ago - still have a couple sitting around - somewhere

We race them at TimeMachine Hobbies in Manchester. There's an open bash session Thursday night. Check out the website for pics and videos
