I know this might sound silly but I just got the winch plate in today and there is three holes on each side of the plate... but yet i only have two holes on each side of my frame... Do I need to use all six holes on the plate or am i able to just use four. it would be the middle and the back holes on the winch plate that i would be using not the front ones.... thanks for any help.

yup, the front of the sway bar bracket sometimes is mounted ontop of the plate. Like Mark said, check your alignment holes first before you mount hte winch on the plate, just incase you need to fab some stuff up to make it fit properly, every jeep is differant.

Maybe its a generic winch plate that mounts on CJ/YJ/TJ?  the hole spacing is different (offset on the CJ/YJ)

Thanks guys! I got the winch on last night. Just had to fab the plate just a little and drill 2 new holes in the bumper/frame. Now its ready to go.

thanks
steve
