My yj is assembled now, runs but engine idles high also I think I hear a knock

Ok here is the story. I took a 90 yj 4cyl 5spd and converted it to a 4.2 6cyl with the 4.0 head and fuel injection set up on it out of a '95 yj. I swapped the dash and all the wiring. I installed a tf727/999 and a np231 behind it. I have an 8.8 ready to go in the rear. I also put a 4" lift on the jeep. 

So here is my problem:  The engine sounds like it is racing, tach isnot working yet still working that out , The engine also sounds like there is a knock in it.

So what I am asking is, if some one knows about 6cyl and the workings of a 4.o set up could they stop by and lend a hand? I live near Mohegan Sun casinos.  I would like to take this rig off roading this yr and seems like I will not figure this setup out. I have a spare 4.2L so if the engine is shot I am willing to swap it, I just dont want to go threw that if it isnot shot.

have all the proper grounds, and sensors set up?  Have timing set correctly?  Throttle is not sticking open at all?  Nothing stuck in the throttle body?

its tough to diagnose when not looking at it, but i would start looking at the very simple things.  Then work from their
