I need to get a set of tires but Im still not sure what to get. You can read about all the tires in magazines but the best is when someone is actually running them and can tell you first hand. Just as an info thing, how about everyones lists what they have in a format like this and we can call see what tire is good in what areas. Help me out along with any/everyone else. THANKS!!

TREAD WEAR: Fast
NOISE: 10
RIDE: 8
OVERALL: 10 + Best tire I've ever owned.

BRAND: INTERCO
TYPE: Super Swamper TSL SX

TREAD WEAR: MED

RIDE: 10 bumpy, after about 3 miles things smooth out
OVERALL: 10 love them, will buy again.

Started with BFG MT's, but went to the Swampers because of the thin sidewall problems with the MT's - ripped out 3 side walls in one summer. I have abused the Swampers worse, and no problems in 2 years.

BRAND: Interco TrXus

Old Tires I just replaced:

BRAND: BFG
TYPE: ex. MT
SIZE: ex. 35x12.5
TREAD WEAR: SLOW,
NOISE: 1-10 6
RIDE: 1-10 6
OVERALL: 1-10 1=made a mistake and bought these, Long lasting, unless you wheel them, I wheeled them once a month, and they lasted 1 year. Tread was brand new, but 3 out of 5 had small to large side wall leaks. Very thin side wall, and little scratches from rocks killed them. Besides the fact that no one can fix side walls(good) and the fact the cost so much, they would have been a great tire... So I went Truxus this time, so far, so much better.... However if you do a ton of highway driving, the they will usually only last 40,000 miles

BRAND: Goodyear MTR
TYPE: MT
SIZE: 35 x 12.50 - 15
TREAD WEAR: SLOW (expect 40,000mi. with proper tire pressure & rotation)
NOISE: 2 for the first 10,000mi. 5 there after (little hum, not bad at all)
RIDE: 1 Smooth as silk
OVERALL: 10 Perfect daily driver, weekend wheeler tire. Perfect trade-off.
If my rig was trail only, I'd run a swamper or krawler.

second.. agree totally except i would run Krawler only on the trail.

BRAND: BFG
TYPE: MT
SIZE: 31x10.50R15
TREAD WEAR: SLOW
NOISE: 5
RIDE: 5
OVERALL: 8

I love these tires. They are great for starting out. But like Damon said, they have a very thin sidewall. You really need to pay attention to what you are driving on. I would definately buy them again, but I think my next set will be the Goodyear MTR's.

BRAND: Firestone
TYPE: MT
SIZE: ex. 33x12.5x15
TREAD WEAR:SLOW
NOISE: 5
RIDE: 10
OVERALL: 10. I wish they made them larger than 33's. I have no wheelweights whatsoever and they run completely vibration free even at 75 mph. Firestone used a new construction process that is very accurate.
The sidewalls are thick, have a rim protector bead, and have held up fine aired down to 9 psi. Haven't lost a bead yet. The tread has larger blocks than most mt tires and wrap around to the sidewall. I would definately recommend these tires.

Ditto on both of these, but I had 33's. BFG's have thin sidewalls ... LOVE the TruXus.

BRAND: ProComp
TYPE: MT
SIZE: 33x12.50
TREAD WEAR: MED
NOISE: 1-10: 6
RIDE: 1-10: 5
OVERALL: 10=love them will buy again (maybe in a 35"). Great on the trail and rocks. On pavement they are great in the rain and snow - the lugs are siped.

Old Tires I replaced:

BRAND: BFG
TYPE: MT
SIZE: 30x9.50
TREAD WEAR: SLOW
NOISE: 1-10 6
RIDE: 1-10 6
OVERALL: 1-10 5= These served well for 2 years and 60K highway miles. But the 'rim guard' beads tend to pick up crap from the trail when aired down- especially bark and leaves. Plus they sucked in the rain and snow

Brand:Kumho
Type: MT
Size: 235-85-16 (~32x9.5x16)
Tread Wear: Very Slow (could be the load range E)
Noise: 5 ehh, they make noise, not to bad not to good.
Ride: at 30 psi ~7 decent for a mud tire, at 45psi 5, kind of hard (rated to 80 psi)
Overall: 7 I'd buy them again (I got a deal on some futura MT so I'll be able to talk about them in a few years)

Very durable, decent grip , little flex.
