New Control Arms on the LJ

I've decided to keep the LJ as Short Arm for now, but I need new control arms however. Not exactly sure, but I think the old ones are Nth Degree, but they are out of business. The rebuild kit is $300 and one of the front lowers adjustment is really boogered. So, I decided to just buy new arms.

I went with Core 4x4 Crawl Series (with Johny Joints at both ends). They had a 1776 sale (18% off), so there you go.

I think Joe just called you out for wheeling soft  :rotflmao:

Yeah, I got that feeling too. LOL But to be honest, I have lost a bit my tolerance for damage and breaking things.

Thinking Long arm bled into stretching and then tons sooooo... Short Arm it is.

Lol no dig intended. While very cool looking, long arms don't really seem to be a  necessity. Every time I get out I'm always wheeling with a group of short armed jeeps doing the exact same stuff. Hell that red JK at wheeling for warriors was doing more than everyone else there.

The only time short arms are tough, is when you have too much lift, and they want to roll the axel down rather than pop up to the frame on big obstacles. That was the issue I had with the short bus with SA and 4" of lift.

Nice. I am going to be in the market for new adjustable upper arms for my LJ once I put the SYE in it.

I've been eyeing CORE arms for a while

I haven’t gotten my long arms hung up, not that I’ve been in the woods for quite a while. My whole reason for going long arms was thinking I’d put in an airride system so it would make the jeep more comfortable for longer drives and adjustable ride height. Then after I spent all my $$$ on the lift and wheels, I couldn’t afford the fancy airride setup. But I’ve been told it rides nicer than JKUs so I’ve got that going for me

I think long arms in the front and long leaf springs in the back is the perfect combination.

I bet long arms in the front and short arms in the rear would work well also for coils all around.

That’s a good theory, Terry. I’ve never had an issue with long arms getting hung up, it was usually that the short arms dropped around an obstacle and created a catch point with the frame

The new rockkrawler long arm kit is super sexy with a totally flat belly !

Solves all the issues except being a rockkrawler product

Barnes 4wd has a pretty slick minor now as well.

Overall can’t complain about my RK LAs. If you consider I do zero maintenance and have zero vehicle sympathy stuff holds up very well.
