I just put new tires on my jeep....do I have to get an alignment now

Even after your lift the alignment shouldn't change unless you have to do work to the Tierod or other steering components.

And you really won't need to take it anywhere, just do it yourself.

.

Yeah but it's not going to throw it off THAT much, a few turns on the tierod and/or Drag link end(s) and a few measurements after the lift is complete will do it. Need to do that anyway to recenter the steering wheel.

.

Lift it over 3 inches and you will see a big change in your alignment. Put my XJ up in the air and it musta toed in about an inch!

Jeff, I think you are thinking of the YJ.

The YJ has a fixed rod from tire to tire... therefor no change when lifted.

However the TJ uses a tie rod from the pitman arm to the passenger tire. Then it uses a drag link off of that. If you lift it, the tie, it pulls the drag closer.

And you know? You would think my dumb ass would remember that...

Seeing as how I recently replaced my Tierod with a ZJ rod... A-DUR!!!

Doesn't curry have a nice steering conversion for the TJ?

Is it worth it?

.

Are you trying to get me to buy something else :disagree:

The Curry set up is not a conversion, just a strong as hell replacement.

Steve runs it and does very well....

The TJ uses the Y link set up, there are many different upgrades, but it all depends on your lift.

Most brands just strength the OEM style, you can get ones like this where the 2 link run off the hub instead of each other.
