First time I've seen this one. The front 1/2 looks exactly like the Jeep Rescue from JP Magazine a few months ago:

Looks OK I guess. Time will tell. Hope it doesn't have a Dana 35

For comparison...

They all look the same!

Everything I've read says both those Jeeps are built on full size Dodge pickup frames, so I'm guessing the axles will be whatever FS Dode P/Us are running at the moment. At least it's still front solid axles!

10.5" rear and 9.25" front- that'll do, riding on 37s front the factory, no less. But this makes sense- look at all the integration and shared platforms of Plymouth, Chrysler and Dodge over the last 30 years.

Damn- that rear certainly looks cool. I wonder what the carrier, carrier bearing, and shaft dimensions are.

The dash controls rock! Although this introduces more moving parts to break, but what the hell, it's still cool!

AAM is currently producing the axles for Jeep.. as of 05. The new Grands have them as well as the libertys. I think that Dana still has the contract for one more year with the wrangler. But i do know for a fact that they (dana) has lost the contract to AAM.

As for the above photo of the wrangler. from what i have heard that is the 06 model wrangler. take a close look... no foldable windows no half doors (look where the latches are) and worst off all the B and C pillar do not remove, only the glass.. This is becuase of the new airbag law that is going in effect for production vehciles of 2006.

The Rescue is not to be made but instead the Commander, which you can see pictures of online. looks like a Grand CHerokee on steriods, basically the function of this jeep is to provide a third row so thay DC isn't toally losing the battle in the SUV market.

Mercedes Benz SUCKs!!!!!! (Daimler)

Yeah- I've been reading that the new Wrangler will have a hard top that comes apart in panels. I don't know what to make of the soft top I'm seeing in the first picture, I guess I'm happy it has one.

What's with everyone mounting winches upside down under the front bumper?

That is a picture of the Dodge powerwagon.. just they way they are mounted on full sizes when they are tuked into the bumper.

At least you can be confident knowing you have the 10.5" axle in the rear instead of the turdy five. 8) I'd like to see that electronic disconnecting sway bar on the new wrangler. Anyone know if they are planning on replacing the 4.0L with the 3.7L engine?

The Internet rumor mill says the 4.0L is done with 2005 if this new generation Jeep comes out for model year 2006.

The 3.7L would be a wimpy engine pushing a FS 3/4 ton frame. Seems like it'll just stay in the Liberty and/or any other unibody mini-suv things that pop out.

I'm hoping for the hemi, in 2006!

I'd like to see Jeep go retro. Small, powered by a 4 popper designed for a truck (like the 2.5L, not the 2.4L Neon car engine :puke:), with a granny low, and decent sized (but not huge) axles. Bring back the best t-case ever (the Spicer 18) and keep the weight around 2600 lbs.

Here is the Jeep Commander

You've heard it referred to as the Grand Wagoneer, or maybe even by its codename YK. But it's practically official - Jeep's upcoming seven-passenger luxury ute with three rows of seats will be called the Jeep Commander.

Powered by a 4.7-liter V-8, or an optional 5.7-liter Hemi, the super-sized Jeep will reach dealerships in time for the 2006 model year. Expect the Commander to be in the $40,000 range.

Is that one of those Le Bra's? I thought they just covered the nose. Looks like a rolling piece of luggage, or duffle bag there...Bull.
