Only an auto tech. that is good knows how to test it with just an automotive rated voltmeter.

Otherwise, lab scope or scan tool only.

What makes you think you have a problem?

If in doubt, just replace it.

Use a high qaulity Bosch replacement.

The one before the cat measures air fuel ratio, the one after the cat measures convertor efficiency.

So it probably the one before the cat then?

Best to replace them all (4) at the same time...

.

He has a 4cylinder...therefore only has 2....O2 sensors

Only the newer 4.0's with precats before the big cat have 4 sensors or is it 3? can't remember right now.

so anyone know a good place to get them?  Autozone has them listed at about$75

So the humidity is down a lot today and the jeep is running much better.

The problem seems to be at its worst when the humidity is really high and/or its raining like a bastard.

That still point at the O2 sensor?

Don't cracked distributors caps cause problems in humid weather?

I replaced it once, but it was a while ago.  I'll look at it.

Usally...but then, so do bad spark plug wires.

But he doesn't say anything about a "check engine" light being on or not.
If something was wrong there any 96' or newer vehicle would immediately turn on that light.

Thats the part that is really kicking my ass, I've got no lights or errors at all.

So I dont know if anyone is still reading this but here goes.

I replaced the wires, dist cap and roter today and no change. :swear_mad:

Plugs are 2 weeks old, and coil is a couple months.

I think that the RPM's are actually revving up when it stumbles.
I'm also down on power, sometimes I have do drop all the way to 3rd on hills.

Could this be my clutch???

I'm reaching now.
