PCM Question

I have a question about PCM's. The 4.0L I am putting in was previously mated up to an auto tranny, whereas I am mating it to a NV3550. Are the PCM's different for an auto versus a manual? If so, anyone have a line on where I can get a manual version? Engine is out of an '04 TJ.

Thanks,

Mike

Sure are differant. the PCM and the controller for the NV3550 are built into one unit, not untill 2005 did they seperate them. Try junk yards.

controller for a nv3550?  What does it control?

The AW4 has a separate computer.  though I haven't dug through the wiring to find where it connects to the EC.

I've run a stick shift on an auto computer before (GM TPI) and it ran okay.  The best way was to trick the computer that it was in drive.  Take the shifter selector switch electrical side and duct tape it into the drive position and stuff it under the dash.  This will only work if the neutral safety switch (for starting) is separate.
