Hey, I ordereed the RE 2" Budget Lift from 4x4 Group Buys. Jason at 4x4 Group Buys said that it the kit comes with RE Twin Tube shocks which appear to be an upgrade (at least in price) on the RE website ($150/set vs. $190/set).

Does anyone have experience with either the RE Twin Tube or the Doetsch Tech 3000's or both? Thoughts?

i had the Doetsch Tech a few years ago and the eyelets keept breaking off . id be sure they fixed that problem by now. they did seem to ride nice on the street .

Doestech are a cheap decent shock.. I have run these for ever and a day now and would love to upgrade cause i am tired of a horrible ride. From what i am told, when you couple the RE Shocks with thier lifts it is supposed to be a very good ride.. this is only what i have read, so at this point... yes i would buy them.

They are a stong shock, but they are a hydro, so in the winter they blow...

however all in all, there are better shocks....

If you have the money, Bilstein are really great.  Also Old Man Emu are great... and I have no idea who makes RE, worth looking into...

probably Bilstein or Edelbrock make them for them...

Thanks for the feedback. They are already on the way. I was asking because the kit listed on the RE site comes with the Doetsch Tech, but the kit from 4x4 Group Buys came with the RE Twin Tubes. I'll let you know how they run.

I read that too and tend to believe it becuase I do put some blind faith into hoping companies engineer systems vs. parts. For instance, I use Nikon cameras, so I use Nikon Lenses. I saw this when I worked in Detroit. The GM Tech center had a shop where they would tear down competitor vehicles for research. Then they decided to build a "super car" with the best of the best from all the makes. Best engine, best transmission, best suspension, etc. and they ended up with a piece of shit becuase non of it was engineered to work together.
