I seem to remember those OBD1 rigs were sensitive to O2 and coolant temp. The tps might have a dead spot in it. Sounds like you're on the right track brother!
I think I fixed the stalling issue! I took the throttle body off one of my spare intake manifolds and gave it a good cleaning today. Swapped my known good sensors into it. Then swapped it for the throttle body on the Jeep with a fresh gasket. Looking at the one that came off, it’s pretty dirty and there’s a ring of carbon around the blade when it’s closed.
Just took it for a couple laps around the neighborhood and I wasn’t able to make it stall. Before, I couldn’t do a single lap around the neighborhood without it stalling, or at least trying to, multiple times. It should be a lot more fun to drive now!!
Also, had to get a shot of it next to Jarrett’s YJ out in the sun today.
Got the skid plate on the YJ last night. Just put a tape measure under it today. 18.5” from the bolt head to the ground on 33’s tires. That’s more than my XJ on 35’s! Maybe I should have built a YJ instead of an XJ lol.
The only thing that hangs lower is the crossover pipe on the exhaust. Plan is to use a TJ down pipe when I redo the exhaust. That should help tuck it up higher and give me a straighter shot to the back of the Jeep.
