The Rhode Island Off Highway Vehicle Association would like to invite you to attend our first Anniversary meeting.  It will take place at:  Stepping Stone Ranch, West Greenwich, RI on Sunday November 20th from 10am to 2pm.  Please make every effort to attend this fun and exciting meeting.  Here’s what’s happening:

    Easy on-site membership renewal.
    Free members-only RIOHVA T-shirt.
Learn about our goals for this coming year.
    Trail ride on 80 acres.

So, bring your dirt bike, quad, or 4X4 truck and spend some time trail riding in one of the most beautiful areas of Rhode Island.  Please bring the proper safety equipment. Sorry, NO LOUD BIKES OR QUADS.  Event will be held rain or shine. $5 parking fee required.
Please invite your friends, neighbors and fellow OHV enthusiasts to become members and help us achieve our goals.  We are 100 members strong and growing every day!

Remember, “United Voices Have More Choices”!

Interstate 95 north or south, take exit 5-A, it will funnel you right on to route 102,  follow for ¼ mile to Route 3 and take a right, you now will be on route 3 South.  Follow 1 mile to Route 165 West (take a right at flashing light) follow route 165 for 5 miles and take a right on to Escoheag Hill Rd.  Follow Escoheag Hill Rd for 2 miles to the Ranch.

Remember go slow on Escoheag Hill Road.  This ride is on a horse ranch.  Be respectful and yield to horses.  We don’t want anyone complaining to the ranch owners that we (ORV users) were not giving the horses the right of way.

Hmmm, I'd like to go check this out.

Mark, it's definitely worth checking out.  RIOHVA is a Pro-active organization.  RIOHVA is currently trying to get a fair amount of land open for ORV use in RI.

$10 for membership.  That's nothing.  Some of us spend that in coffee in one week.  It is a worthwhile organization.

More land in RI would be great for this club and every other club in NE.

Bring the Jeep and come wheel on Sunday.  I'll be there.

Is this where they had the trail cuts last couple weekends?

Yes

I should be there with the M37 as this is only 20-25 miles for me.

Hey Mark, you want to meet up? Looks like you will be taking 9 down to 95. If so we can hook up down here at the exit 3 comuter lot.  I'm giving myself 1.5 hrs to get there. I'd like to leave Essex around 8-8:30. I'll call you this morning. Anyone else going? Detour, you still working today?

Karl, I'll going the RT2 - I395 way. I should be there at about 9:30 or so.
See ya there.

It was a great time. They got "a little" swamped with about 300 more people than they were expecting. Networked with some more people and saw some CRAZY wheel'in.

Wow! first thing that comes to mind. There was a huge turnout of supporters and people signing up to become RIOHVA members.

The trails for the 4x4's were awesome, and it was just scratching the surface of what's there. The 2nd rock ledge almost put me on my over on my roof. A few tries later, I did make it up. Bob from Ocean State offroad  rolled his zuki and messed it up pretty badly, but it did drive off of the trail. He was OK.
Great group of people. Thanks for the invite.

Had a great time.  Karl, I don't think we officially met   Which Jeep were you in?

I was glad to see there was that much support.  Although sad to see that the Jeep/Truck guys were in the minority.

Glad to meet all those that I did.  Mark you did great getting up that ledge.

Erik

Yes thank you all for your support and for making such a great time. Even though we were the minority as Erik said, we had the biggest bunch of spectators.

You all have an idea now of what we're able to accomplish as users with a little drive an focus. Best of luck on your fight in CT, and don't be afraid to call on us for support.

I thought my goose was cooked here.

Thanks for letting me get your rig hung up on a rock!

I want to say thank you to all the CT guys who showed up in support of RIOHVA. With all our states being relatively small and close together, any opportunities for wheeling in one state will be an opportunity for other states. And when a wheeling area opens up here RI, part of the sell to the DEM and other politicians can be generating income from stickers for out-of-state riders. Ideally, the states would coordinate their resources and plans, but that's a far-off dream. We're just happy to be on the same page as the bike and atv guys, and on our way to getting state-supported riding back in place here.

BTW, it looks like our next quarterly meeting in February will be at Stepping Stone again. Can you imagine those trails for a snow-run? :)

I was in the little olive drab CJ. I skipped the ledge. :grinyes:

Are you out of your mind Dr. Bob???  :disagree:  Stepping Stone in the winter is insane  :grinyes:  See ya there  :rotflmao:

That was SUCH a good time :grinyes: and great turn out of people/support.

Thanks for everybody's help when I rolled my junk

That's sweet to have the Feb meeting there...even if the way cool ledged on the ranch property have too much snow/ice on them, Lakeview is only 5 minutes down the road, and is very fun with snow :grinyes:
