What are foks doing to prep for installation of rocker guards - if anything?

Paint holes -

Seal top edge -

should anything be placed between the rocker and the new guards?

anything else?

Thanx

Self stick foam works fine,

I used this, I will let you know how it worked when I take my rockers plates off next...

When i prepped mine, i washed my jeep and lifted the "Detours drop kicks" and bolted them.. Absolutly the best Rocker Guards on the market. This is of course if you haven't bought guards yet. you can find these at Detoursusa.com

Just my two cents

Do what I did:

Call Detours and wait a week...

Go to his shop with cash...

Watch him install your rockrails...

And go home happy knowing that you'll never need to buy rockrails again.

Hey Mark!...I've got an idea that will drop the jaw of those skeptics on NAXJA! Remember when I mentioned my boatyard's crane and your rockrails???

So I opted out of the rocker guards, and have ordered up a set of "Drop Kicks" from Mark - does that mean Rubi04TJ is owed some comission from mark for pointing me in the "right" direction............

You wont be dissappointed.... I love those things and they take a real beating...

I just wish he had them before I drilled all those holes in my Tub for body mounted style....

The new Drop Kicks are on - and I do like them. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction on this one.

Does anyone here have any experience with the Line-X product? I am considering using this for some "protection" as well as to address a few areas low on the rear qtr and tailgate that are going to show some surface rust soon, and was thinking about a 1/8" thick x 4" high band d from right behind the DS wheel well all the way around the back to the PS wheel well?????

and downside, or other considerations?
