Well now that it is closed, there is not much sense in keeping the name out of the public side... It is here so that further damage is not done if people don't know and continue to wheel it.
Unlike many other clubs, we do not discuss trails here in the public, and we pride ourselves on our many moderators who edit immediately if there is one listed.
Our club did once have a trail ride scheduled there last year... but as soon as we found out through the NEA that trail was in jeopardy, we canceled the run... Funny thing is it was a week before the planned event and that left us with nothing, yet we still refused to go there. Leaving us with the proverbial egg on our face to our members for not being able to provide them with a run that month. Yes we could have hit the other commonly used trail in our area... but we as a club have long refused to be a part of that trails eventual demise... as well as any other that are even remotely being over used.
So, I completely disagree in that I feel clubs are really our last best hope for continued availability of our sport. Through moderation, regulation and safety, an organized club can do nothing but positive things for trails and their towns..
Like what we did for Earth day. Complete cleanup of a trail in Ma... was that trash from all wheelers?… not unless Off Highway clubs bring couches, beds, tires and shingles to throw out as they ride…
The biggest problem is uneducated, yahoos that feel they can wheel anywhere with no regard for friends and neighbors, they are the true people who ruin our sport... how do I know, I used to be one until I found a club like this one...
