When I'm going down the road and hit small bumps and cracks in the road I hear what I think is the hiem joints banging. I think I remember reading somewhere that someone else had this problem and they said the hiem joints that come with the SkyJacker lift go quickly. If I remember correctly they replaced them with Terraflex control arms.

Can anyone add there expertise to this?
thx...

The heim on my track bar will start squeakin' every couple months or so, usually after I've been wheelin' through mud or water. I unbolt it, clean it out real good and shoot some lithium grease on it, also get the misalignment bushings good. The monster heims on my long-arms are completely quiet. Full Traction uses FK Bearing for all their heims very high quality.

Thx Steve does Full Traction make replacement upper and lowers for all lifts do you know?

if the heims weren't a good slip fit with the bolt they will die quickly.

especially the cheap ones.

You could also jsut replace the heims (THey are replaceable right?) If so I would go with 4130 heims with the teflon liner.

Hey Right up my alley!! Well not only do I work for a leading Manufaturer of Heim joints(rod-ends) and spherical bearings, but I also have a friend of mine that had the Skyjacker 4in lift that seems had the same problem as yours. This happened roughly about 5 months after he installed the lift, with very little Offroad use at all. He called Skyjacker and they sent him replacements free of charge. Then he totaled the jeep 2mos. later.

Now on his second project jeep, He ordered a 10 in lift from Skyjacker again. When the same heims came with this kit he asked my advise about installing grease fitiings. So i called Skyjacker to speak with one of their engineers to ask their opinion and find out exactly what type of material they injected between the housing and the ball of the heim joint. I was told that they use a kevlar based plastic and not to install a grease fitting. He said to clean often and spray with an aersol lithium grease or lubricant. tThe Jeep is still not on the road so I cant comment any further. But I told him to try and find a boot from some company like FK or Aurora that manufactures that size Heim and fill the crap with grease to protect from mud and dirt. My Company Alinabal out of Milford doesn't deal with that size any more except special orders and unfortunely we dont carry the boots anymore either. But they are out their that are made for Heim joints of that nature.
Thats my .02 cents but if anyone ever needs a custom linkage for whatever or rodends and heim joints let me know.

Good luck
Bruce
