Sometimes when I am driving my yj I get a whiff of sulfur or rotten eggs :frown: I can also sometimes smell it when I get out of my jeep but I can't pinpoint where it is coming from. Anyone have an idea what its from? Thanks

"Rotten Eggs"  isn't that usually when the catalytic converter goes,  or is on it's way out.

Not neccessarly.  The rotten egg smell is caused by the cat.  It's because there is too much fuel going through being burned.  A few things could be the culprit.  Tune-up, is usually one of them but depending upon the year the o2 sensor is generally at fault.

Its a 95 with the 4.0 L. The gas thing makes sense because if I start it up and only drive it a few hundred feet and then shut it off, I can smell it. Thanks

I've had a similar problem due to an overzealous charging system (Bad voltage regulator).  It was cooking my battery, it looked like a pumpkin it had swelled so much.  But from your description it sounds like the cat.

What did you have for dinner, Taco Bell Burito Supreme perhaps?  Why do you guys have to be so quick to blame the Jeep? :rotflmao:

Pull the cat off and use a broom stick.  If it's empty it won't smell.

O2 sensor is probably a good place to start.  They should be changed every ~50k.

Bah, wait on the O2 sensor... Try different pump gas...  I've had certain brands do that to my car, changed the gas, went away, tried that brand again came back...    Try that first.
