Some lift questions...

Anyone familiar with the Fabtech long arm kit?  I'm thinking of using the 6" long arm kit to lift my jeep.  But am also considering the Fabtech  6" high clearance kit.

If anyone has seen these kits, let me know what you think...  I was considering the Skyjacker Singleflex kit but I like the long arm system.  Only problem is I can't weld so I will need to find a welder to put in the new subframe with me.

i would rather see money invested in a company that has done research into the jeep wrangler. Most of these companies started out on full size vehicles and then just made parts and slapped them together for the wrangler. These companies in my opinion are, Fabtech, skycrapper, supercrap... and some others i am sure.

The four i do recommend are.... Rubicon Express, Nth Degree, Full Traction, and Clayton

just wanted to add,

The ride and quality of the more thought out and researched kits is well worth the SAME if not a little more money spent.

The Clayton kits are made here in CT, and have a huge warrentee on them.

Steve's Full Traction is a really well built, and working kit.
If you're planning on keeping the jeep for a long time, I'd recommend the Clayton hardarm setup. You won't break it. It requires welding, but he does full installs at his shop right in Waterbury Ct.

I've heard of Rubicon Express and will look into the Full Traction and Clayton setups.

ANY kit I go with will be self installed so I know what I have there and will trust it, so any kits needing welding I'll need a partner to lend a hand as I don't weld (*I can, but would NOT trust it on the road*)    I also definately want a long-arm setup, but one that is still road worthy.

Are the Full traction and clayton kits complete??  I can't friggin stand it when you buy a system and then need to source an additional hundred or so parts to "finish" the kit...

yes both can be bought complete.

Just finished looking at the Full-Traction kit, looks good.

Steve,  Couple quick questions, did you have to swap out your Driveshaft?  and how much modification to your exhaust did you need?

*Asking because the notes said you needed both as well as an SYE

I wasn't planning on doing the SYE as I may be going with a new NV4500 tranny and Atlas II 3.8:1 setup and I wouldn't need the SYE...  But for now I'm planning on just using the stock drivetrain as is, will that be a problem for me?

I'm also planning on using 36x13.5 tires.

I'm kinda likin the FT kit, though after checking out the Clayton site they look prety indestructable..

I'll prolly go with the FT kit as I can do almost that whole install myself  (*I gotta learn how to weld!*)

Steve will you be at the wrenchfest?  if so you bringing your jeep?  If yer gonna be there and have time I'd like to look at it up close and all personal like...
