Some questions on the New Synthetic Winch Line

My wife got me the MasterPull synthetic winch line for Xmas.  I've heard there is a lot I need to do differently than wire rope.

One I knew beforehand was to use a Hawse Fairlead instead of roller.

I've heard/read two different ways to re-spool onto the drum.  One writeup says that synthetic line is much more forgiving than wire cable when re-spooling onto the drum.  However others say the spool up method is completely different?  (you don't spool it straight in like wire rope - you spool it straight for the first wrap and crisscross it for the rest )
Does anyone have experience with the stuff and or any links to info on re-spooling on the web?

The other question I have is about the various heat guards and worry about UV deterioration over time.  Once again - if anyone has experience or info I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Someone must have been good this year to get such a nice gift from Santa!

  It's all about the giving - I got her a genuine ARB compresser for her locker (no more of that leaky PepBoys special )

Not sure I'll have it installed before the weekend though...

I've been using the AMSTEEL BLUE for over 2 years now - I'll never go back to the wire stuff
I use my winch a lot, and don't treat the synthetic rope it any different than I did the wire stuff, but I would have replaced the wire rope at least once in this time due to kinks from bad spooling.

So the consensus is that I don't handle synthetic line any differently than wire line when re-spooling?  That's good news for me since I ended up with 100ft of 3/8" instead of the SuperWinch 21/64 inch steel line.  I was worried that with some new-fangled synthetic line spooling method I wouldn't be able to fit it all on the spool...

Thanks for the feedback

just treat it like you would steel line.  use a winch weight and such.

only stay away from the sharp rocks and give it a bath every now and then.

Thanks for the input Jon.  What brand line do you use?
