Splines on Tcase

Just for knowledge, are TJ and YJ tcase's different? Do they have a different number of splines or something? Im talking about NP231's, are they all the same...21 i think? I thought I saw something about a 30 something spline or was i just seeing things. Thanks for the info!

i dont think they are different from year to year, I think just 4cyl or 6cyl 4cyls are normally 21 spline, 6cyls are 23 spline, and at some point TJs had a different gasket and doesnt leak when the driveshaft is pulled out

Yeehah! I checked mine earlier (while swappin the tank) and mine is a "J". 23 spline baby.... Anyway - check out the Advanceadapters.com website - it shows the many combinations of NP 231s and what to look for. That said - anyone have a NP231J for sale?... :hijack:

Thanks for all the info guys! If my NP231 out of my 97 TJ will work for ya, would you be interested in that? Pretty sure im buying a tcase with the SYE in it and wont need mine..... let me know
