So my starter is dead and today I wasn't able to go to work because I couldn't get the Jeep started. I called AutoZone and have a new starter on order. I've never put a starter in before, but it doesn't seem to be too hard. Anything I should know? How hard is it really?

That's funny, I found that same link last night and was gonna use it to figure it all out. If you could send the PDF file that would be great!! My email is rjhodges12@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Step one: Disconnect the battery.
You don't want to turn your sarter wires into a macguver welder.

...or engage the starter while the jeep is in gear and your head is being used as a wheel chock.

I had a neighbor across the street from me that disconnected his driveshaft while the truck was on a steep driveway. The F-350 rolled dragging him until his body got wedged under the rear axle and stopped it. I dragged a jack across the street and lifted the truck off of him. This is the same guy that left a droplight on the seat of his pristine 62 Vette and nearly burnt it to the ground.
Not mechanically inclined, and no common sense was a bad combo for him.

Got the starter in with no problems. Thanks for the info Steve. Now, to go back and get that core charge.
