Stealing jeep doors

I was woundering if any body heard over this past weekend of jeep wrangler door thief,s .I spent the weekend in newport RI and when i returned home my father in law said that he heard it on the news about jeep door thief,s somthing about seeling them on ebay? If anyone heard about please give he a holla back>Also what can be done to stop it?

I have not heard this one...

But there are security nuts you can get that will help deter theft.

There are also replacement pins that lock with a key, but those become a hassle when you want to remove your doors frequently.

I guess if someone really wanted your doors, neither would really stop them.

Those are the security nuts I was talking about...

A regular allen wrench will not get them off, because the bolt part of the pin sticks down into the socket... There is a hole in the end of that hex wrench... Someone would have to work at those nuts with a pair of vice grips to get them off...

Every ones and a while you will read an article of a flare up of this. Usually I read them happening in Florida and places like that. The nuts seem like they might help, but either way if you have comprehensive insurance, they will cover them 100% (excluding deduct)being they are not a wearable item and are needed for the safety of the vehicle.
