hey guys, I recently purchased a Cobra75WXST CB radio that should be arriving this monday so I can hook it up. The antenna already came this week along with the mount. The antenna is a firestik II I belive and I bought both the mount and antenna from arizonarockyroad.com which I highly recomend. Anyways, I ran the antenna wire to my glovebox (thats where the CB box control will be) and its ready to go. My question is does anyone have a SWR meter that I can use at the great american jeep raly? Im not really sure how to use them but I know that the antenna has to be dialed in with the SWR meter. Thanks in advance :bowdown:

The antenna should be pre-set to the 20 channel range. You should be OK with that setting. I have the Cobra all in the handset setup also. Good unit. I hope you went with the 4' antenna

I actually got the 3 foot antenna thinking the 3 foot is already insanely huge poking up out the back and if I went with the 4 id be hitting everything

I have the 3 foor one for everyday use and a 4' one for the trail

You could always use the tin foil for tuning... :wink:

i have one. remind when it gets close to bring it. need a hacksaw or cutoff wheel to trim the ant to proper length.pete

The antenna does need to be checked and tuned if needed a high swr will damage the radio

I have one in the back of the Jeep now
I'll try and make sure it's still there at the rally

The firestick's have are adjustable, you don't need to cut the antenna.
