Well I have had a lift on my 2000 XJ for about 2.5 years now and I finally brought it into a shop for an alignment. When me and my buddy origianlly put the first 3.5 inches of lift on we gave it a home grown alignment and it was some what OK. But when I added another couple of inches the front end started to get a little Sketchy. I originailly brought it to two different shops for an alignment two years ago and they both would not work on my Rig because it was lifted

The last couple of months have been horrible and I completely trashed my TSL radial on the front passenger side. It has about half the tread depth as my other four tires.

So I finally brought it to a garage (that would work on it) and for only $100  it rides like a champ!!  My wasted tire is not my spare and my spare is now doing hole shots!!

Man I wish I did this two years ago!!

Here's my alignment machine.

Glad to hear your alignment is all fixed up.
Did they give you any info on what was out of whack, and by how much?

Other than slight adjustment on tyhe body side of the control arms, toe is ablut all that is adjustable on an XJ, unless you get offset ball joints, how far off was it that a tire was trashed?  Aside from a tape measure, I made a big caliper out of some 1x3 and angle iron, to measure toe....works pretty good.

I'd be careful with alot of those town fair guys.  At firestone (not much more faith but some) you can get a lifetime alignment for like $125 for the life of that vehicle.

at one of those town fair tire, or quick lube places,(maybe expressway?) while my dad was getting an oil, they rotated his tires. Never actually tightned the bolts on one tire, about 2 minutes later as he was driving home he heard a clunk, and saw his rear driver side tire rolling down the road in front of him. Well he got pictures and then went to our buddy the local mechanic to get a quote, turned out ok because expressway paid for everything and we got a new (un-dented) bumper, but i still dont trust budget places.
