the new engine is in but ..........

we got the new engine in last thursday but now it won't even crank ive checked everything including replacing the starter and starter relay re aligned the neutral safety switch and still nothing
so i'm about to send it to someone unless you guys have another idea

yeah so far there is no problem with the engine itself the starter does nothing when you turn the key

Do you mean the starter is getting power, but can't turn the engine over? OR is the starter not getting any power at all?

It may be a stupid question, but is the battery charged?

i recently had a battery cable corode from the inside out . looked good and was provideng a low amp 12 flpw so  the est light would light but the starter would just click.  just a thought.

check to make sure the starter has a good ground.

Have you turned it by hand?
Does the starter engage?

When we were setting up the engine to put it in we did turn it over by hand to bolt on the torque converter, so the engine is ok as far as being able to turn.


Shrek, what happens when you try to apply voltage directly to the starter?  Bypass the rest of the ignition, see if it'll turn the starter.  then work your way back, you'll find the problem...
