Thoughts on mods

thinking about some mods on the tj. I would like to get a new exhuast to replace my tired one and saw one on rustys off road. They have 2 deals, i like....get a flowmaster muff, pipes, and rustys airtube and k&n filter for like $225. Plus I can get a TB spacer for $59 and get a little more HP according to them. Any thoughts on these mods??? Just thinking, Bull.

Tb spacer is a waste of money.. take that 50 and join the club. as for the exhuast, save a little more and get a Banks cat back and eventually get thier header. Don't waste your money on a air element.

I would get the K&N filter. It is proven. I run one in my YJ, my Z71, even my Honda ATV.

As far as exhaust goes, I don't know what type of rig or what trails you run, but I run the $15 "turbo" mufflers from Advance Auto and regular replacement exhaust tube. Take a look at my exhaust and you'll see why. The only exception is that Flowmasters are fully welded (I believe) and will take trail rash better than the stamped mufflers. Other than that, if you regularly use your rig on the trail, stainless is a waste of money.

Besides, an exhaust system made up of 200 patches and u bolts makes for some cool campfire talk.

Don't waste your time with a bank cat back if you wanna wheel it at all :lol:

I just had to weld a borla catback back together the other day, Piece of junk. yeah its stainless but the metal is wicked thin, the muffler is a piece of shit as well.

The rusty cat back is really nice and strong, and the flow masters are TOUGH. Personally I am gonna go to a $15 turbo muffler from AA and just weld the thing together when ever it breaks.

Well the 1st thing you do is sell that fancy new fangled TJ and get your old CJ back. THEN you can build something. :wink:
