I'm still running my stock tie rod / steering on my TJ.  I'm trying to decide what to do, since I have seen pretty much 3 options.

Currie make their beefed up setup that I have read nothing but great reviews http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/Product.aspx?id=1219

Then there's the "beefed up tierod and ends" only option http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/Product.aspx?id=1224

The one that really caught my attention is a high-steer conversion that involves a new steering knuckle.  I know knuckles can be bought for around $300, but I was wondering if there might be a knuckle that's compatible with the D30, that could be gotten at a boneyard or something.

I remember reading about one a while back, but cannot find it now.  But then, I am trying to get some input on that setup on a TJ to begin with...is it worth it and can it be done?

Go with the complete currie setup. It will bolt on, do an alignment, and you're done.

I'm custom building a new high steer and track bar set up for mine right now.
What a pain it is to figure everything out, and have it all work together when it articulates.
I seem to be ordering and buying stuff every day for it, and there are more surprises around every turn. (get it?)

The only High Steer kit I've seen for a D30 is from Downeast Offroad and it will run you about $1000 bucks.
Here a write-up: http://homepage.mac.com/rv6a/hpd30.html

Currie is the best bang for your buck. I'm happy with my setup.

...and I assume that there are no issues with the FT suspension you are running (as that will be the next large mod I do)?

iv been looking into doing this set up  http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=1TNST&Category_Code=S6

If you are going to upgrade your steering, do once and do it right by doing a crossover steering.. The best one that i have read about and has gotten great reviews is OROs U-Turn

take a look and do the research.
