now that have the financing (thank you birthday) its time for some new rubber
ive narrowed it down to a couple of choices
BTW 33-12.50r15
MT baja claw \
interco TRXUS MT
kuhmo mt's
or those things that detour is running
any sugestions
what do you run whats good or bad about them
thanks
dennis

I'm running the trxus now but I'm with Detour, the Big Horns have a little wider lug pattern and he's run both tires so if he likes them, I'd add those to the list.

I have run the 33x12.5x15 Firestone Destination M/T for two seasons of driving and wheeling.
No BS, I can say they have worn very well, and handled themselves awesome on the trail. If they came in the 36" flavor, I'd have them ordered by now.
Swamper SX's next in line.

those toyo tires look nice but not toooo wallet friendly :rotflmao:

the closest deeler is town fair, gary has account with them, see what whole sale is :rotflmao:

so Maxxis is better than MTR's??

or better than Firestone???

but price plays a factor.....

are the Maxxis good for the money or BFG or Firestone??

thanks

I've had good luck so far with my MTR's!  Problem is CASH!
What I've seen Detour do with those Maxxis Big Horns is amazing.  If it were me, I would go with the Maxxis.  When I get some cash scraped up for tires on my XJ I'll be going with those!

The Maxxis is a MT, and the Tread Pattern is very similar to the BFG... some will say BFG is better because it is a name brand, but if you look up the specs... the Maxxis I think would be better because it improves the one thing that BFG needs to.  The sidewall plys are more and thus a better tire.

I liked my BFG, for the year that they lasted....  kills you to throw away a tire with 90% tread left due to leaks in the side wall from rubbing rocks...   nothing you can do but throw them away because a tub wont work for wheeling...

Out of 5 new BFG MT, I went through 3 in one year, 1 I could fix, and 2 were junk, so I had to sell them all and move on...

MTR's are nice, but $$$$$$

Firestones are definitly worth the money.. Great tire, i would buy them if i didnt like the MTRs so much. I don't think i am cheap enough to buy Maxxis..

thank you

i will look into the Maxxis tires.....

where can you get them? Pep Boys? Town Fair?

this is what i ended up going with right around 250 a tire
