TJ Gas Tank Question

I am installing an '04 4.0L into a YJ. For several reasons I have decided to install a TJ gas tank and sending unit. For those that have done this, does anyone have any tips or measurements on exactly where to cut the side of the tub for the filler neck? Or is it as simple as putting the tub on the frame, eyeballing things, and making the cut?

The TJ FI system uses a pressure regulated pump - no fuel return line from the fuel rail on the engine.
YJ has the pressure regulator on the fuel rail and returns excess fuel to the tank.

If you want to swap the YJ fuel rail/injectors for the TJ, let me know

Don't see why he would need to do that, because.......wait for it.







He's already got a TJ engine in the YJ, so he'll have an extra return fuel line he doesn't need.
Thats all I can say for now.

As for the filler neck, when i did my YJ tub on my CJ I ended up ordering diamond plate tub corners for a CJ, bolted them onto the YJ tub and used the prestamped holes as a guide. Now i know the back corners of a TJ and YJ have variations, but maybe they are close enough to be able to do the same thing.
