While I was driving my 98 TJ yesterday the heater fan cut out.
I switched it on then off again a few times and it came back on.
I had the same problem today off and on but while I was driving tonight
the fan cut out gradually and hasn't come back on since.

I'm thinking it might be the control switch, has anyone had a similar problem, I'm not sure if there are any other realys to check.

In any case any one got any suggestions on where to start?

It's a Jeep! It doesn't need heat.

All kidding aside, it's cold out you know.

If it works on only one selector speed the blower resistor is the usual culprit. But I wouldn't rule out the switch, (blower resistor is cheaper).

If it worked then died on its own, I'd have to say the blower motor has gone bad.

There's more, but thats all I have for you for now.

This assume you've checked all the fuses, right?

Wound up being the blower motor.
Just worn out.
PITA to get at though.
Waiting for it to come it from napa.
