Weel I just purchased a 2005 Jeep TJ and hate the low rider stance it has. My question to all of you that wish to reply is what lift kits rank among you folks. The Jeep will be street driven 99.9% of the time by my girl friend, I am looking for a good streetable lift kit with most likely 31" tires Maybe 33 Max tires size. Most important is the handling on the street. I asked this same question on another forum and got blasted into some crazy off road rock climb cliff jumpin 4000 dollar long arm suspention with 38 feet of lift and 90 inch tires. If it was for me and only for me than I would look at that type but its not. Any help would be great.

If you want to be that much street and just increase the stance I'd look at something like a 2" spring lift or budget boost.

perfect combo to start with would be a 2" Budget boost and a 1 to a 1-1/2" Body lift.  With that you'll fit 33's no problem.

If you want to wheel a bit and have fairly good articulation I'd either go with the above with 31" tires (*What I'm running now*)  or look for a 3" or 4" spring kit like the Old Man Emu or something similar to fit 33's - issue here is yer getting into teritory where you'll need to look at an SYE (*Slip yoke Eliminator*) to reduce driveshaft angles in the rear.

MasterDrazhar, Do you mind e-mailing a couple of picks your set up sounds just about right for what I have permission for.

I'll take a couple shots tomorrow after work, unless jeepinmax has some already.

Where are you located?  Maybe I can just show ya.

Old Saybrook but I work in Waterford. I am going up to a 4 X 4 shop in Ellington Friday afternoon or Saterday

Here are 2 pics of my junk, 98 tj with a bds 3" lift, thats it.  Rides good, not much money for the kit.  First pic is it with 33"x9.50" tires, as it sits now.  Second pic is with the 33"x12.50" tires I just sold.....so that kit will allow for 33's.  Sold my bigger ones for more lift and 36's Im planning on.  Later, Bull.

simple and cheapest way to clear 31s... buy the 31s, they will fit stock... if you want 33s you can buy the Rubicon Express kit (budget boost) for 250ish comes with shocks and 2 inch spacers and all the hardware, this along with a one inch body lift will clear 33s very nicely.

My Jeep (profile pic) is only a 2 inch Budget Boost and 31x10.5x15s. I like the ride but will eventually go higher. The BB kit cost $125 and consists of spacers for the springs and longer bump stops. If you want a full size pic just let me know. good luck, Wayne

I work for New Britain EMS as a medic and for AMR Waterbury as a Field Operations Supervisor.

Any body running a 3 or 3.5 lift with 31" tires, if so can you post some pics.

Sorry, which kit did you use

I used the Daystar Kit and it was very easy to install. My wife helped me and it took about 4 hrs taking our time. It was just spring spacers and longer bump stops. I have seen no difference in the ride or handling other than being a little taller.
