TJ Steering Upgrade?

Ok my Steering Box is Junk ! I can barly keep it on the rode now. I read that I can Use a Dodge darango Steerin box .Anyone here done this?

heard about it, but never done it, I hear it is the same but there is just 1 bolt hole that does not get used


whatever you do, dont waist your money on a rebuilt... for the price you can almost get an AGR

'98-'99 Durango box (V8-4x4) bolts right on has a 3/8″ larger piston for more power and it’s supposed to have a slightly quicker turn ratio. And aside from needing a few washers to space it away from the frame a bit, it’s a direct bolt-in.

can a YJ use a Durango pump and box too give me powersteering.....????????????

Not sure, but likely. Park your rig next to a TJ and look at the differances

i have manual steering...so i have nothing to compare.....

ahh.. then go to the junk yard and pick up the pump and box. probably wounldn't cost all tha much?

I am not sure, but the Ram V10 I heard is a direct bolt in as well. Not sure if it is the same box as the durango or if it is beefier.

I went with the PSC Extreme Duty Steering Box. I'll have it in a few days delivered to my door.  :biggrin: My old one was Leaking for a while and getting Loser and Loser.Then I went out Wheelin on Satuday night and When I hit the road I could hardly keep it drivin Straght. So.. I called P.O.R.C  and talked with Alex and I went with the PSC .
