toasty alternator

I went out this morning to fire up my 97 TJ and the alternator made a horrendous screeching noise as the belt rubbed around the pulley which wouldn't move. I went through a bunch of 2' deep water crossings kinda fast last week and left it dirty and wet for a week. I tried a socket on the nut shaped part of the pulley and got it to move (lots of resistance) but it will not move anymore from the belt only. It's toast isn't it? Anybody got one used somewhere in the NE? Maybe one out of a ZJ or Durango to get the 136 amp one?

Jeepinmax came to my work and delivered the 136amp alternator. It looks just about new at a silly price!  :rotflmao:

Thank you SOOOO much Frank, I really appreciate it. You are the man!

Paul - no problem - I appreciate the trade   Hook me up with the core when you get a chance.

Some hobbies seem to tie together...
