On my YJ  - off the tranny there seems to be some sort of bolt and bushing assy that I think should connect to the skid below -assume it is some sort of torque control.... but it is just loose and looks all kinds of f'd up - how is this supposed to be connected? and does anybody have one - or know where I can get new bolt/arm and bushings?

Thanks...

sounds like the attachment point for the catalytic converter, just a hanger for the exhaust if it is on the passenger side. You may have replaced the cat and the new cat didn't have the same hanger or the hang fell out. if this is the case, there is no need to worry.

On the YJ it's a torque arm bushing off the driver side of the tranny connected to the cross member.  I just swapped mine out with new ones a few weeks ago ($16 from the dealership for both).  Turns out the old ones were OK.  I have the bolt and maybe I can find the bushings.  I'll check this weekend.

CJ has the same set up. I just cut up some old suspention bushings I had and made my own.
