Tub repair

I'm anxious to see how the glue holds.  These days it's probably stronger than steel.  The best is there is no heat damage to cover up.

Some of that adhesive is better than screwing or welding these days. The nice thing there is no oxidation from a spot weld. I would run it as is and see how it holds.
 
Most new cars are glued together with just a hand full of spot welds. The new Sheetmetal is so think, warpage is a big issue.

Im very curious to see how this works long term, back when I had the chevy, it was getting close to needing rockers. My plan was to spot weld the pinch seams and glue the rest. Using a panel step tool so the panel fit behind the existing one, and with any luck very little cheese would be needed to fill the gap.
 
Fall Crawl and Rocktoberfest should be good tests. I’m pretty sure that split, plus some other rear of tub buckling I have going on is from dropping off things and slamming the rear down on rocks.

I used the 3M stuff because I had already ordered it for another job that I hadn’t gotten to yet so that’s what’s in there.  Probably the big question is did I clean the gap well enough for it to hold.  The Dremel cutting wheel did a pretty good job but I tried not to go farther than I needed. So if anything I didn’t clean enough.  I figured I could always remove it and try again if it didn’t hold.
