update on the forum

So I found a setting for the site called progressive web app or pwa, which allows the forum to be installed as an app. Basically on an Android if you're in your browser and you click add to home screen and the similar option for iPhones.

With these pwa settings enabled the behavior when you select add to home screen (android) is different and it actually does make the forum more like an app as opposed to a tab in the browser. I assume this will have a similar behavior on an iPhone as well

Ive added it 2 ways on my Home Screen. 1 through the Browser and the other through the "App". The app version is cleaner because it doesn't have the bar on top for the url.

Hey Rey, did you add this as an app just now or previously? I think for anyone that added or tried to add this to their home screen / add as an app should delete the existing one and add again. from what I've read the behavior will be different now with the PWA fields filled out.

Yep, changes the icon for the app, and it’s nice to not have the website url bar!

I added the app right after you posted about it. Minus the url bar, it displays the same, which to me is great. It's not a full size view shrunk down. There is an option to view it that way. I wonder what Luciano is seeing.

So the equivalent of the new post button is the lightning bolt in the upper right corner of the browser.
