I was very very lucky to get both tops for my TJ, but I wanted to know what everyone was running this winter for their tops. I'm considering selling the hardtop to buy some fun stuff for the Jeep of course :D . Any comments would be great you guys have been doing this a little longer than me.

Because I'm using mine as my DD I use the hard top in the winter but I won't put it on until there are no more nice days or the snow is gonna start

I'm right with ya man. I think I'll be selling my Hardtop too. Now that it's not my DD I can't justify having to hardtop swap twice a year.

But you have that awesome storage system for it

Top??, you mean I can actually put a top on and stay warm - wow who'da thunk it?

Since the rails are so screwed, the soft top wont go on any more, so I guesse it's bikini weather all year for me.
Actually it will probably only be out for club runs and snow storms this winter.

Yep, I'll be runnin' the hard top again on the XJ. I find it works best year round. :D

-red-

if no one buys my hard top I might put it back on. no sense in it sitting there not being used.

Ordered my TJ without the hardtop. Not a daily driver. I find it not to be a problem in the winter. Jeeps have good heat!

Well thank you all for commenting. My Jeep is also a daily driver so I think my plan is to try the winter with the hard top and probably sell it once it starts warming up again. I figured I would give it a shot. Plus it would give me some time to save up for that lift wheels and tires I wanted.

I'll be running a hard top if i can find one, the wife wants me to get one cuz its my D.D. and i have to pick up my little mini-me from his grandmas after work. So if anyones selling p.m. me Im very intrested. cash in sweaty hand ya know

hard top all the way, but only when it's cold enough (aka thanksgiving or so) but thats just cause of the 50 mile commute to school

It's called a GARAGE. If I get it fixed, though, it will be a hard top.

do you do a lot of highway driving in the winter? do you have full doors or half doors? i run half doors with a soft top and in the cold the top is very loud. this winter is full doors and hard top.

i have full doors and a soft top and doesnt get cold in my jeep. i acutally have to turn the heat down. but what do i know i only have a soft top.

Yeah I have full doors on mine. At this point I drive about 45 minutes to and hour to and from work and it is all highway driving pretty much.

Full doors..... Hard top and keepin' warm  :buttrockxtreme: :kngt:

Put a soft top on the YJ last season (after 7 years of no top on my non-DD).  So- if you need to keep warm in a YJ (TJs have awesome heaters).  I have a YJ hardtop if you need it

That being said - for a non DD - the soft top with full doors isn't bad for non highway around town winter driving. (except if you have a rear locker / short wheelbase in the snow )
