I'm looking at Forscan lite. Comments?

Question 2
Are there any Ford techs among us?

I'm going to change the steering torque sensor in the wife's Escape.
I may need something to do a reset after. This is a 2010, so it has EPA steering (that has now failed)
This is  "IF"  I can get the part. I see it there on amazon, but will it ever come to my door is another story.
Its one of those "top secret" parts that aren't made available to parts stores and the dealer doesn't service it as a detail.
They replace the entire steering column instead of getting to the sensor.
There is a Gigunda snap ring between me and that sensor that needs to be delt with.
If replacing this doesn't solve the problem, we're getting rid of it. Trade it in.
I'm not putting steering column or rack time into this thing.

I'm looking at it.... as a $200 (max) part and a Saturday afternoon,  to avoid another car payment.

Don’t know about good but I have this reader and use it with the OBD Fusion app.  Pretty sure the app was free.  No complaints. Let’s me read and reset codes and monitor sone stuff in real time.  I’ve never had an issue with the app.

Veepeak OBDCheck BLE OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner Auto OBD II Diagnostic Scan Tool for iOS & Android, Bluetooth 4.0 Car Check Engine Light Code Reader Supports Torque, OBD Fusion app https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073XKQQQW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KFB9G3MZNH7TK4RRX25E?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

im not well versed in that, but it seems like that would be a function only available in a dealer only scan tool. I doubt my scan tool could perform that sort of write function

Either Dealer only, or certain scanners such as Autel, Snap-On and others with subscriptions I believe can do a lot of the replacement part programming, like Body control modules, ECMs PCMs Radio's in certain vehicles ETC.  but then yer talking 2, 3, 4K plus for those scanners plus the subscriptions.

Well I got this done today. Install went well but the car still has the same problem.
I need someone to do a proper ford steering torque sensor trim. Anyone here have a high end ford scanner?
The free app thinking is a pipe dream...lol
If that trim set doesn't do it, then the sensor was not the problem. (((sigh)))
Could be a bad motor or a broken belt in the drive....I doubt I'll chase all that stuff.
