Shock re-locator's for my jeep when I lift it.  If so where can I get them and what kind should I get?

I am installing a RE 4" standard lift kit on a YJ frame. Will I need these re-locators as well?

Thanks,

Mike

Or for the same price you can get the Teraflex relocators.  They are a solid block of steel/metal, not bent steel/metal like Currie ones.  Tera's look stronger to me but I admit- I'm just a newbie  .  Personal preference I guess.  By the way I have RE Monotubes and Tera's work great with them.....

I like the sounds of the Teraflex onecs because of them being solid. Also did you ask if you can mount the REs can up?

re's have to be mounted can up, so you won't have issues w/ hitting your springs anyway. i wouldn't worry too much about them. the shocks themselves are rather slim, but w/ can up like they are designed, they won't be in your way at all. just don't put the boots on that come w/ them. they tend to get in the way

Mike, us YJ guys don't need them...

as for the TJ, it needs them because the spring bucket (seat) sticks out to far and will kick the crap out of shock canisters.

I have even seen it bend just the piston.  The reason it hits is because as you pivot the axle pinion up to correct for the lift changes, the shocks mount to the rear and the tabs for mounting begin to curl under the axle, this bringing the shocks closer to the tubes.  Also I have read that the ride quality is improved because it brings the shocks back to a perpendicular set up and and less of an angle.  I am not to sold on that reason but for the couple bucks they cost it is usually worth it.
