York On Board Air Compressor Install

how many horse-torques is that compressor gonna take away from the 16 that the 4 banger has?
I would assume not many until I turn the compressor on. When it's off its just a free spinning pulley. I'm gonna wire it to a switch in the cab so it's not always under pressure.

Cool.  I always thought it was a neat idea.

Also, my major take away is that Joe has a TV near his workbench.  That’s living the dream.

I thought that was the controller for his fleshlight

He’s still young and not officially hitched yet. My bet he doesn’t need one yet

That UAC company is pretty amazing. I needed an idler pulley for the AC compressor on my 78 powerwagon. They were able to spec the correct one based on the year and model even though it was an after market AC kit.

So I took the compressor out to the jeep again today. Looks like the left two bolts going into the ac bracket wouldnt work with the compressor mounting flat to the plate so I think I'm gonna do some fins and some minor trimming of the alternator. Made a little schematic of what I'm thinking.

Do you need an extra idler pully between the alternator and compressor?
Where would you put it ?

Some basic string theory today, nothing like the stuff tom gets in to. Need to source a belt around 100-103 inches

Great project!  When I had my YJ I was going to mount my York in that location.  On my TJ - I just can't give up my yuppy crap AC yet

So raising the compressor really screwed with the cleaner route of running the intake and out line forward. Both are gonna have to go backwards. I might lower the compressor an inch but I dont think it's enough for the hood to not interfere.
