Eversource....

I'm tri fuel and still almost $500/mo for Eversource!

Oil for heat, Propane for cooking & dryer, and Electric for everything else including hot water and a 1.5HP well pump.

We just had the hot water replaced, but due to space constraints couldn't go with a hybrid heat pump style.
So a 40 gallon standard electric hot water heater with two heating elements at draws up to 4500 watts!  That's like 3 space heaters..
Unfortunately our propane lines are too small and we have nowhere to direct vent - so going with a propane HW heater is out too.

At least the water heater was cheap...

How come you didn't go with an oil fired hot water heater seeing you already have oil?

We have one, and when the hot air furnace doesn't run for 8 months out of the year you never see the oil gauge go down on the tank.

Thats a shame, love my hybrid hot water heater, switched from a domestic coil on my Oil boiler to it. Uses roughly 800kwh a year, so with CT electric rates about 250$

What else is causing your usage?? I have a 1200gal heater swim spa and an EV, and my bill is roughly the same as you. Im using 1800kwh+ a month

plus I am tired of being approached everytime I walk into home depot!  I was going to have a shirt made that says 'I hate solar' because my usual 'I have no southern light' is not making a difference  anymore

I used to try to tell them why I wasn’t interested.  Never worked.  Now when people at Home Depot or Walmart or other places ask me if I own my home, or who my internet or cell phone provider is I try to look as confused as possible and say “I don’t know.” Most of the time it ends the conversation.

I'm thinking I'm just going to scream "I need an adult!" over and over next time until they leave me alone

That’s good too.  I have some strong opinions about these kind of sales.  I typed a long reply just now and decided to mostly bite my tongue.  It’s not a positive opinion.

The last time solar was pitched to me, they were handing out 'gift cards'; so they had thr excuse to attempted to deflect.  I just walked away

I just looked at my bill.  $75 for 3 months for my garage.  Now that it's not just parking and I installed a lift, compressor, heater etc I'm expecting it to go up to maybe $40 a month.  I'm still being billed $.0113 03 per kwh...
