Looked it up cuz I was curious

CJ8 wheelbase 103.5"
JKU wheelbase 116"

XJ Wheelbase is almost perfect at 101.4", the KJ get's a little bit over at 104.2"  So the CJ8 should be just right

Lookin good Tom! How are you attaching the base of the shock hoop to the frame? Just notch it and weld to a 2" or so piece of tube welded perpendicular to the frame?

This weekend was very productive, becca was away visiting her father. I spent as much time as I could in the garage.
- valve cover gaskets on my dads camper van
- crank position sensor on the jeep
-oil change on the ranger
-rebuilt the steering on my truck
- re wired the 3 phase for the lathe
-cleaned the garage / reorganized
- made a mess working on henrys jeep

Friday night was a late night, and finalized all the numbers. Saturday morning I began making the links up and tacking on the mounts for the lowers. because I dont have the motor to transfer case yet the front links are in space.

The upper links then fell into place. Lastly it was time to bend up the ORI hoops

so far so good, this weeks project is the front

Im not entirely sure yet. I kind of want to run the perpendicular tube through the frame. I dont trust 2 welds to hold up one corner of the frame

I stopped by a couple times this weekend and Tom explained the math, figuring, and gozintas that are involved.
Pretty simple once you get all the numbers dialed in, but you can really fawk it up if you change one thing just a little bit.

Due to traveling the last few weeks, progress has been slow !

Finally unpacked my tools and began working on the jeep last night. about a week ago the motor was dropped off along with a ton of other parts. For the most part it was purely supported by the engine hoist. Last night Becca went to bed early, so i began working on the rear link cross-member. the cross-member will be removable, to make transfer case removal possible.

The plan for this weekend is,

- fully mount cross-member
- mount lower links
- Mount rear ori hoops
-Start trans cross-member
