update on the forum

playing around with some features of the new forum.

Do you mean the text in the banner? If so I made a change to that.
Not sure if this was covered already, but I noticed that hyperlinks didn't migrate. The links in the Tech Tip thread are all broken because they point to the Simple Machines forum. Also, links to the internet like youtube videos...
The issue w/ hyperlinks from the SMF forum is that the xenforo forum uses different patterns for passing parameters.
Specifically the difference can be see in the bolded text below. both are links to the same topic, however how server handles link addresses is completely different. I will see if I can find anything about fixing these, but I expect it will be a manual process.

How is it much better? It seems to me that you are just inserting the URL. On SM you just paste the URL into the body.

But the video plays in the forum rather than going to an external page
I just read that you can upload local (from your phone or PC) videos if we enable video attachments. Also, I think the media Gallery will also video allow uploads.

Is video disabled? Just tried attaching a 7 second screenshot and it was too big.
It might have been disabled. I made a permissions change. want to try again. If it fails let me know the file size of the video.

is there a last reply button somewhere that I am not seeing when looking at threads? Also is there anyway to check forum usage? I have to be the Debbie downer here... so far I am not a fan of not having an app to easily check the forum. The browser on mobile is not my cup of tea and already notice I'm not coming on to check the forum as often because of it. Just my 2 cents...
