EV Vehicle Fires

Why allowed in the bus but not on the front?  Afraid of an issue if the bus hit something?

I'm currently working on a few Costcos in NYC. 20% of parking has to be EV charging spaces with level 2 chargers. Another 40% has to be make ready for future requirements. One fast charger can replace 10 level 2 chargers but not for more than 50%. Costco aims for 1000 parking spaces so if they don't do any fast chargers they have to install 200 chargers (it will probably be like 50-100 since they make chargers with multiple charging cords) right away and another 400 in the future. In Connecticut, any new development with more than 30 parking spaces must have 10% of the spaces be EV charging parking spaces.

People are going to look back at this and shake their heads. This is how it felt when things like hemp where made illegal only much worse.

Tesla catches fire in garage after flooding from Hurricane Helene

Apparently being submerged in salt water is a big fire starter for EVs. I wonder if there are any Tesla car lots on the shore line.

it makes sense that salt water would bridge the gap between the terminals and cause a short because it's basically a electrolyzer; and being how it's water, it'll find a way in to any 'sealed' component.  I would also assume that being by the ocean, you might have residual salt all over corroding any sealed components as well; saw a JK for sale when I was on vacation in RI and the frame was DESTROYED due to residual salt just being by the water.

Salt water leaks didn't work well for WW2 submarines either, if the water hit the electric battery banks.... boom

Another one. Jeep recalling 194k plug in hybrids. Apparently they can catch on fire while turned off...

Melanie’s friends Jeep caught fire yesterday morning when it was parked in her garage.  This was before the recall notice came out.

So before dragging it outside did it release a bunch of caustic smoke into the garage?

Love how they tiptoed around that not calling it an EV. No fire alarm is pretty funny too
