Need Clutch Help to Rejoin the Ranks!!!

Wow,  I can't believe my login info still works!  It's been about 5 years since I last rode with you guys,  and I've been on a month-long journey to get my JK back in top shape.  Replaced the rockers,  oil cooler,  clutch,  front drive shaft,  etc.  But down to the clutch and I can't get the damn slave cylinder bled.

I bought a Dorman one on Amazon at first.  Manual bled 50+ times too no avail (zero pressure).  This is my second time replacing the slave cylinder,  and the first time I got a bad one out of the box,  so I just figured I'd get another.  This time I got the Luk one for $120.  This time it's going better... I get pressure at the bottom of the pedal, but it's spongy and I can't get the clutch to engage at all. I've manual bled about  50x and also got a pressure bleeder at Harbor Freight (helped).

I'm not getting bubbles out of the bleeder,  but there's an audible hiss when I crack the bleeder every time.

I am at my wits end.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!  I'm really looking forward to rejoining - hoping i can do so before Mohawk in the fall (if that's still a thing).

Can you put a tube on the bleeder und run it up higher than the reservoir?  If you can, leave the bleader cracked and see if it will gravity blead.

Does the clutch master cylinder need to be bench bled before installing?

Thanks for the quick replies!  I figured it out - took the slave cylinder off with he hydro line still connected and held the slave vertical so the bleeder is at the top... a few huge bubbles came out and VOILA, clutch engaged again!  Now I can look forward to rejoining this fine group!

I'm surprised there is no one piece molded setup like there is for XJ’s
We get the master, slave, and line all one piece and prefilled.
There's never any need to even open it up.

Thanks folks!  I'll be filing another application and pay the dues for this year.  I'll check out the upcoming events to see when I can come hang out again!
