The state of Massachusetts has had a law on the books regarding OHRV Registration since 2011.  The expectation of The State of Massachusetts is that anyone driving an OHRV (in our cases a Jeep) needs to register said vehicle and apply stickers issued upon registration to the vehicle in use.  There is a plan to implement "Zero Tolerance" on this law starting May 15th.  Word being passed along to us is that tickets have already been issued prior to the "Zero Tolerance" date.  Please refrain from posting up any trail names and or locations.....this is simply to make everyone aware of what is happening.  This does also include Private Property.  For anyone interested in the process to register, it is as follows.
You will need:
1. CT Reg(assuming you live in CT)
2. Completed signed Registration and Titling App - http://www.mass.gov/eea/grants-and-tech-assistance/enforcement/environmental-police/boat-ohv-and-snowmobile-registration-bureau/registrationtitlingform.pdf
3. ST-6E form - Tax Exemption Form
You can get this tax exemption form online at masstaxconnect https://mtc.dor.state.ma.us/mtc/_/
At bottom, go to "I Want To"
Select "File Sales/Use Tax on Recreational Vehicles"
Hit the button for ST-6E and fill it out
You end up with a printable certificate exempting you from mass tax because you bought the Jeep out of state.
4. Check or MO for $33 (They do not accept cash)

Can someone clarify? A few of us did this back in 2011 or 2012, then we were told that Jeeps were exempt.
Dave - the few of us registered back then and let our registrations expire...  Good news it those that registered back then can still renew on line without having to drive to Springfield

I’m good for another year!

I had these extra plates for the Metalcloak fenders, so I figured that I would just use those for my Mass OHV stickers and swap them when we wheel in Mass.

I went with the same location on my Metalcloak fender.  I don't remove the plate because getting to the nut on the bottom bolt is nearly impossible...

I was gonna say... Frank, you could tack weld the nut if you had the screw through without the plate in there!

How about cutting a piece of sheet magnet the same size as the sticker and just slap the sticker on your fender/door or whatever whenever you need it and stick it on the underside of the hood when you don't

The Metalcloak fenders were on the TJ with the plates on when I bought it years ago!  I don't care about the Masshole sticker year round on my TJ, (it's not going to win any pretty paint contests!)  it's nice to have it on the plate instead of on the paint on the cowl like my YJ...

The 1st time around 2011 in MA I had to register my YJ as an ATV!

Here's a thread from 2016
