This isn't good

I see this all the time now and it's disturbingly  freaky. This is a tomato.
The seeds on the inside have sprouted.
The baby tomato plants are working their way to the surface like an alien hatching on the inside.
It's NOT normal for a tomato to begin a new life cycle before the current life has even matured.
WTF are we doing? WTF are we eating?

All I could think of was this….. IYKYK

I had to look it up. It's called Vivipary

"Vivipary, or seeds sprouting inside fruit, is caused by a disruption in the seed's dormancy, triggered by environmental stress (like drought, excess moisture, or extreme temps), hormonal imbalances (low abscisic acid), or simply being overripe or stored in cool conditions, allowing seeds to germinate prematurely when moisture and warmth are just right. Some plants naturally exhibit vivipary as a survival strategy in unstable environments, like mangroves, allowing them to root immediately upon falling."

Like those baby corn clones that are suddenly growing inside a perfectly normal cob from a perfectly normal farm stand.  All perfectly normal.  Here, take this blue pill.

I think "Vivipary" and it's definition/story is a recently created effort to normalize something that is clearly not. Anyone believing thats been around forever and that it is perfectly normal is a good sheep.
I've been gardening for most of my life and I can tell you none of my stuff ever did that.

Every once in a while one of the tomatos in my garden will do this. They look pretty cool.
