What did you do to your Jeep today?

I figured out that I can bypass the entire ignition on the BYS with 3 hot wires.

One to the coil +, one to the propane solenoid, and one to the Duraspark module positive.

I made up a little harness with a toggle switch to attach to all 3 places.  I also made up a remote starter switch.

I put them both in a baggie to leave in the Jeep.  Hopefully this will keep al the electrical gremlins away.

Yesterday was a beautiful evening for a trailer once over.

I'll be interested to check this out. It's so interesting to see how little wiring is needed for an old school engine to run.

Busy day finishing up the front interior of Syd. The seats I got were from a TJ that did not have tip and slide on the drivers side, so I had to swap the frame and rails from my old drivers seat to the new to me TJ seat. Then added a ton more Velcro to attach the bed rug to the tub. Center console back in and all ready to take a ride when I discovered I have a brake bleeding leak at the hardline side of the fitting, and either something ripped off or chewed the wires off my O2 sensor… which makes sense I was getting a CEL for o2 Sensor. Woo, more to do this vacation :rotflmao:

I drove it to work earlier this week. No issues on the way to work but kinda struggled on the highway going home. Once I got off the highway I realized I had a caliper sticking.

Took it Big Y after work which is less than a mile down the road from me and it stalled out once I turned into the lot. Had crank and fuel but no start. A nice samaritan gave me a ride home and I went and picked it up with the truck. its on the trailer in the driveway. Hopefully will have some time to look at it this weekend.

I thought I broke a brake line on the BYS at New Hartford.  Turned out to be the banjo bolt was just loose.

Josh and I did rear wheel cylinders on his Wrangler.  Thursday was brake day!

Dunno how to add pics without Tapatalk, but successfully replaced drivers front hard brake line, correctly double flared cinched down and did a Blake fluid flush and bleed. No leaks at the booster block or at the frame where it screws into the soft brake line. O2 sensor harness tomorrow along with bedrug and the jeep should be good to go. Oil changing the near future but last oil change only has about 1500 miles on it.

I forgot when bleeding the brakes if you don’t have a correct size tubing, it shoots 3-4’ behind and across for the rears

Nice! I'm always very pleased and slightly amazed when stuff doesn't leak lol. I've got to cut into my transmission hard line to add a temp sensor... and dreading it lol.

I have the same issue. I haven't tried this yet, but Chris Fix uses a zip tie at the end of the hose. If you FF to 5:04 in this video and you'll see it.

I put the code reader in and Im getting codes for open circuit on all 4 injectors. The wiring looks sound. I started some basic diagnose with the ASD an looks like I'm getting no ground to the ASD and no power to the injectors so I believe that means there is a fault somewhere between the PCM and the injectors. I'll remove all the loom and check the wires but with nothing looking badright away i might be sourcing a new PCM

Pics from the last week as I warm up between additions of Bedrug to the back of Syd.

Last weeks finishing the front area with bed rug.

Fixed hard line to front drivers brake/soft hose. Yes, I’m going to power wash the underside soon.
